SANRIO

Since I've grown up in asia and in largely asian neighborhoods in the us, Sanrio been practically unavoidable throughout my life. I have really grown up with this brand... The plain ubiquity of Sanrio everywhere gets on my nerves at times, and I'm quite particular about how Sanrio merch looks before I'm willing to let it into my life. For instance I'm really not a fan of silicone keychains. Still, a quick trip to Daiso leaves me with some kind of new sanrio stationary more often than not, and my friends know me well enough to gift me stickersheets. I try to be less materialistic but I find cute things so hard to resist...

tbh I'm not super clear on the distinction between sanrio and san-x & I'd probably be a bigger fan of cinnamoroll too if she wasn't plastered absolutely everywhere. im such a sucker for an indulgent sanrio themed life- like here's some cute images i found on tumblr ages ago

rilakkuma and specifically korilakkuma are hands down my favorite sanrio characters. I have quite a few clover and strawberry themed merch around my room. I am a big fan of how rilakuma plushies often have a little zipper in the back. Here's my prized possession: a fluffy pink sakura korilakkuma I bought to cheer myself up during the break of a double food service shift last summer. Look at the little zipper on the back >.< absolutely adorable...

korilakuma is up on my wall because can't have any more plushies on my bed, because I know I'd get too attached, as I tend to. I did come pretty close to getting this giant rilakkuma at book off last week though...

these hello kitty pixels remind me of this raccoon tailed keychain I had last summer but sadly lost :c

overall I find sanrio's designs to be annoyingly covetable and very bad for my impulse control and my wallet. I'm this close to starting to hunt for rare stationary on ebay... I really shoudn't though! I have hardly made full use out of the notebooks i already have.
